Webinar: Teaching Strategic Management through Business Simulations

Held on Thursday 10th March, this webinar focussed on the teaching of strategic management through the use of educational business simulations. We were joined by Dr. Peter Barton from Liverpool Business School, part of Liverpool John Moores University. During the session, we discussed his approach to using business simulations to teach strategic management as well as a tool to monitor and measure student engagement with course material.

We covered a range of topics and themes including:

• Teaching Strategic Management - the approach at Liverpool Business School
• The mental, cognitive stimulation of simulations
• Using Dale's 'Cone of Learning' (1969) to map comprehension 
• Integrating simulations with module assessment 
• Measuring student engagement and collecting student feedback
