“Working with Edumundo staff has been fantastic. After three years I’m extremely happy with the consistency of leadership and the depth of capabilities within the simulations. Each one has different flavours of business management within different industries.”
Frederick Neubert has used a variety of management simulations for the last three years as part of THINC Academy's International Business Pathway. Having established a number of international businesses, he brought this knowledge and experience into the academic world by allowing his students to get a realistic experience by managing a number of international businesses.
“THINC Academy strives to develop practical ways to apply the business principles taught to my students. We looked for a business simulation where students worked as part of a team, made decisions based upon their role within their company, and were able to compete with the other companies throughout the semester. So part of our International Business Pathway curriculum required the use of a business simulation that allowed for decision making within a real-world background. Edumundo fit all of these requirements.”
“Edumundo has a number of simulations that cover multiple industries and allows my students to experience international business even when they may not have ever traveled outside of the US. I felt it important to partner with an international-based company that allowed a variety of simulations such as services companies, manufacturing of basic goods like bicycles, and technology-based companies such as cell phone producers. Edumundo's simulations keep the students engaged and are used as a foundation to learn business concepts. The designers hit the mark by focusing my students to the important aspects of running a company. Most of the students haven't worked in a business environment before and the simulations allow to them explore what it takes to run a successful business."
"The simulation provides end-of-period rounds information and delivers reports of the company's performance and rank order the student teams. The students take the results of their previous round performance to make modifications to their companies goals to gain rank status over their competitors. They are required to analyze their performance, based upon their role, and present their finding to their classmates. Individual students are required to do presentations to the class based on particular business concepts covered throughout the module. Students are also assessed as a group based on their team's performance within the simulation and are required to provide the team briefings."
"Yes, I felt students really understood the importance of international business by the end of the module and they grew in confidence within their assigned roles during each round."
"The students love it! Within a high-school setting, it exposes them to the real world. It's interesting to watch students grow from being risk-averse to trying to set up new entities and expansion."
