Testimonials - Marketing Simulations at HWZ Zurich

HWZ Zurich

“The relationship with Edumundo is easy and straight-forward. I was very happy to have met Milo and Gijs and we quickly reached a very good understanding. I am now looking forward to including the business simulation again in the 8th term.”

Overview

Dean of Faculty, Bernhard Schweizer has been using our business simulations for over two years. His students are part-time, therefore many of them have to fit their studies around their work. He decided to use simulations as a way to embed marketing knowledge alongside their allocated class and self-study time on the course."

WHY DID YOU CONSIDER USING Business SIMULATIONS?

"At HWZ, all our students are part-time. 60 to 80, sometimes even 90% of the students are in employment - they often work between three or four and a half days a week. They come to school for usually one full day and an evening per week. Apart from their class-based work they also have to study in their own time. The simulation is a very good way for the students to deepen their new marketing knowledge in a hands-on and fun way."

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE EDUMUNDO?

"After some desk-based research, we found this to be the best programme on the market. In addition, I believe an English-language simulation is a good way to improve the students’ competence in English as a foreign language."

How Were Students Assessed On The Module?

"The simulation is only part of the final grade. They have to take various exams along the way in this marketing course. These exams focus on the theoretical backbone of the course. In the simulation they put their knowledge into practice. The final marketing plan is also graded and then included in the final marks."

Did the simulation meet the desired learning outcomes?

"Very much so. The students learned a lot, both in marketing terms as well as in team management. What is more, they learned relevant marketing vocabulary in English which was an added bonus. Although not everyone got high scores, they all learned a lot and many have since fed-back that the simulation was a key highlight of the term."

What Feedback Have You Received From Your Students?

"Overall, students were very positive. Some struggled a bit and had hoped to achieve higher scores but at the end they understood that the process is much more important than the resulting score. They learned a lot and in a playful way and generally they liked this simulation a lot."
