A company update from Edumundo

Until recently, Edumundo BV was operating under two autonomous business units: Edumundo, an EdTech and publishing house for predominantly the Dutch and Belgian Higher Education markets and Edumundo UK BV, a subsidiary company operating in the UK Higher Education market.

As of February 2022, both Edumundo and Edumundo UK BV have been merged into one company.

Menno Thijssen, CEO of Edumundo had this to say of the merger: “The Edtech landscape is rapidly developing, and serving Higher Education has become increasingly international in focus. In 2021, only 50% of our revenue growth came from Edumundo’s home market, The Netherlands, while our international client base is growing day by day.

Because of this and also due to some internal and staff restructuring, we have made adjustments to our scale-up strategy. From now on, we will be focussing on each of our three core product propositions: business simulations, Edubooks, and our gamification and student engagement app, HE College Coins, aiming for continued growth in numerous English-speaking countries including UK, Ireland, Canada, USA, South-Africa and Australia. Because of these changes it seemed more logical to become one global organisation instead of one holding company with local subsidiaries.”

Former Edumundo UK BV Director Milo Hendriks will take up management of the Business Simulations product proposition. Milo Hendriks: “I’m happy to widen our focus and also be responsible for business development outside of the UK and Ireland region.”

Despite the operational changes our mission remains the same: helping universities across the world to use digital technology to increase student engagement, develop students' core employability skills (hard and soft skills), and provide them with realistic business experiences through experiential learning.

“We're seeing a lot of success with our university partners. Together we're helping their students prepare for a bright future in academic and professional settings” explains Menno Thijssen. “We’re extremely happy to have the former UK team on board to expand our university partnerships worldwide.”
